Manual turnstiles

Turnstiles are an ideal complement to railing and fencing systems, providing an attractive and effective means of increased access control. Turnstiles regulate access to certain areas and serve to separate and control people. A turnstile consists of a central column to which several barrier elements are attached to prevent uncontrolled access to the secured area. A flow of people can thus be slowed down and controlled so that only one person at a time can pass through the turnstile. The locations where turnstiles are used are numerous and varied. They include sports facilities, recreational areas, parks, swimming pools, and company premises. Turnstiles are offered by Thieme GmbH as electroless manual variants; the material from which they are made is usually steel, hot-dip galvanized and color-coated, or stainless steel. The assembly of the Thieme GmbH turnstiles is quick and uncomplicated; a crane or similar lifting equipment is not required.

Compared to a barrier, crawling under a turnstile is difficult. In addition, many models provide increased security against unauthorized access with the help of an additional climbing protection.

Handicapped-accessible, barrier-free turnstiles are also available, which, thanks to their large passage width, allow convenient passage with wheelchairs, baby carriages, bicycles or similar. Due to the wide range of available options in terms of passage heights, diameters, RAL color shades or backstop system, individual wishes and requirements of the customer can be taken into account. The turnstiles can be set to be left-blocking, right-blocking or free-turning.
